Introduction/Description ------------------- Untune Enrollment Remover is a utility for cleaning up stale Microsoft Intune device enrollments so a device can be re-enrolled without fully wiping the device. It is helpful for correcting scenarios such as: * Device was deleted from Intune admin console without being properly retired or wiped. * Device retirement failed or is partially complete and stuck. * Device Intune certificate is expired due to extended inactivity. * Device Intune certificate is missing. * Device erroneously reports that it is "Managed by another organization" when trying to enroll it. * Device is enrolled in a defunct Intune tenant. * Personal device will not disconnect from work or school. 2. System Requirements ------------------- The program requires the following: * Windows 10 attached to an Azure AD and enrolled in Intune * Administrator access to the computer. 3. Use ------------------- The program runs interactively by default. To use it, simply run the application and confirm removal of enrollment information. For silent use, command line options are provided. Below is the command line usage of Untune, as produced by running the application with the /? option. Untune Device Enrollment Cleanup Utility v1.1.10.13 (C) 2021 RAX Computer Technologies, All Rights Reserved. Usage: Untune [/S] [options] /S - Silent mode, don't ask for confirmation /Reenroll - Enroll in AzureAD and Intune after scrubbing enrollment data (for Hybrid Azure AD Join only) /LeaveIME - Leave Intune Management Extensions behind if present /NoSCCM - Don't attempt to disable System Center Configuration Manager client before removing enrollment data from the device. May be necessary if you deploy Untune through SCCM. Untune tries to stop the client before cleaning to prevent comanagement auto-enrollment from occurring during the cleanup process. 4. Known Bugs and Limitations ------------------ Untune does not fully remove MDM policies and restrictions, it only serves to remove the enrollment itself so the device can be re-enrolled. Policies from the prior enrollment that conflict with those supplied by the new enrollment will be overwritten. This behavior is by design. 5. Changelog ------------------ v1.2 - Support x86 version of Windows 10 - Option to ignore presence of SCCM client. - Option to leave Intune Management Extension behind. v1.1 - Stop SCCM clients on computer if present to avoid comanagement automatic enrollments from occurring during cleanup. - Force group policy update upon completion. - Remove Intune Management Extension if present. v1.0 - Initial Release 6.
